
Kath Evans
Kath, is a registered general and children’s nurse whose career has included clinical, educational, managerial, service improvement and commissioning roles. Kath was Experience of Care Lead for Maternity, Infants, Children and Young People at NHS England where she was committed to ensuring the voices of children, young people, families/carers and maternity service users were heard in their care and in the design, delivery and commissioning of services.
Highlights included establishing the National NHS Youth Forum, securing the implementation of Children’s and Young People’s national inpatient survey and developing experience measures for use in maternity and children’s bereavement care. Her work ensured an increasing national profile of experience, participation and insight work relating to children and young people.
Kath returned to clinical practice in April 2019 joining Barts Health as their Director of Children’s nursing, she is Chair of the Children’s Health Clinical Board, works with East London Health and Care Partnership as their Clinical Lead for Children and Young People, and is an Academic Nursing Fellow at City University.
Kath is a keen user of social media, using it to engage with children, young people, families/carers as well as professionals in issues relating to child health.
